Jersey Arts Centre is an arts complex in the centre of St Helier, comprising a 250-seat theatre, a number of craft and meeting rooms, and a CafeJAC, a popular and welcoming bar/restaurant.
It has two galleries, The Bar Gallery on the ground floor, which is a small exhibition area, and the Berni Gallery which doubles as a foyer to the theatre and is reached by the main staircase or lift for wheelchair access.
During the day, the gallery receives visits from a broad section of the community and, when the theatre is in use, as many as 250 people may pass through, viewing work before the performance.
An exciting programme of theatrical performances, drama, dance, music, film and lectures is offered throughout the year, accompanied by exhibitions, courses and workshops.
Jersey Arts Centre exists to foster the development and celebration of the arts island-wide and beyond. It aims to enrich the quality of life for all residents and visitors by encouraging participation in the performing, visual and literary arts. These aims are met by providing exciting, innovative, wide-ranging, challenging, professional and community arts in welcoming, high-quality and accessible environments.
